The Ministry of Health this morning announced the recovery of 806 more patients from COVID-19, bringing the total cured cases in Cambodia to 81,202.
But at the same time, the source continued, 21 new deaths and 593 new cases were reported; the death toll and the tally thus jumped to 1,704 and 86,041, respectively.
Among the new infections, 236 were imported and the rest were locally transmitted cases linked to the Feb. 20 Community Event, it added.
The first COVID-19 case was detected in Cambodia in late January 2020 in Preah Sihanouk province. The confirmed cases have surged quickly this year due to the Feb. 20 community outbreak.
