NOCC, FEI Discuss Equestrian Development in Cambodia

The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) and the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (Fédération équestre internationale) or FEI, have discussed more collaboration on equestrian development in Cambodia.

The discussion took place in Phnom Penh on Jan. 31 between H.E. Thong Khon, Senior Minister in charge of sports movement development promotion and President of NOCC, and Mr. Ingmar De Vos, FEI President, Member of the International Olympic Committee, and Member of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

H.E. Thong Khon highlighted continued support for Cambodia’s equestrian sport development through the possibility of upgrading it into a regional sport in the future, particularly for the 5th Asian Youth Games 2029 in Cambodia.

The NOCC president asked FEI to support the preparation of athletes through human resource development and technical resources, both in equestrian care skills and the construction of a standard equestrian court.

He thanked FEI for its assistance so far for the “Voca
tional Training Programme for Poor Girls” and the “Vocational Training Programme on Equestrian Care in Cambodia,” which is crucial for the federation to train Cambodian professional equestrian careers, contributing to promoting Cambodia’s equestrian sport sector popularly and potentially.
