Cambodian NA President Leaves for Official Visit to France


A high-level delegation of the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia led by its President, Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei KHOUN Sudary, left here last night for France to pay an official visit and attend the summit of first female speakers of parliament until Mar. 11, 2024, at the invitation of H.E. Ms. Yaël Braun-Privet, President of French NA.

According to an announcement of the NA General Secretariat, the above-mentioned summit will be attended by 25 female speakers of parliament to further boost proactively parliamentary diplomacy which focuses on women’s and girls’ issues, and promote women’s rights throughout the world in political careers of parliament members, as well as oppose all forms of violence against women, especially promote the leading roles of parliament to enhance gender equality through law proposal and adoption.

The summit has two roundtable forums: (1) equity in education, combating violence against women, and women’s health, and (2) gender equality in political sector and confirm
ing of role model of women, said the source.

The Cambodian delegation is scheduled to meet their French counterparts, attend an exhibition dedicated to political rights of women in the world, and hold talks with Presidents of NA from Indonesia, Germany and Belgium, general delegate of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie (APF), Cambodia-France Parliamentary Friendship Group, Social Affairs Committee of French NA, and Secretary General of French NA, it added.

The forthcoming visit of the Cambodian delegation not only contributes to promoting cordial bilateral relations between both countries’ legislative bodies and peoples, but is also a good opportunity to strengthen Cambodia’s parliamentary diplomatic sector with parliaments around the world, especially in enhancing gender equality and multilateralism principle to maintain peace, social stability and prosperity with sustainability and inclusiveness for the people, the announcement concluded.

Cambodia to Strengthen Economic Diplomacy


Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has announced to strengthen the economic diplomacy because economy is the life of the people and the nation.

At a get-together with some 2,000 Cambodian nationals from across Australia and New Zealand in Melbourne on Mar. 3, the Premier emphasised that the 7th-mandate Royal Government of Cambodia will pay high attention to the enhancement of economic diplomacy for the people’s benefit.

‘Economic diplomacy has the economy at its core, because it is the life of the people, the stomach of our nation, making our people strong, capable, knowledgeable, healthy, with more job opportunities, more income […],’ he said.

During his official visit abroad, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet always takes time from his busy schedule to meet with the management of foreign private companies, encouraging them to explore investment opportunities or expand their investment in Cambodia.

The Prime Minister generally highlights Cambodia’s full peace and
political stability along with the attractiveness of the Law on Investment and the incentive policy for investors and businesspeople, which ensures the favorable condition and flexibility of investment environment in the Kingdom.

IDP Education to Expand Business in Cambodia


IDP Education is planning to expand its business in Cambodia, by opening a branch in Siem Reap province in the near future, and then in Battambang, Kampong Cham and Kampot provinces, Sihanoukville of Preah Sihanouk province, and Poipet of Banteay Meanchey province.

The expansion plan was revealed by Ms. Tennealle O’Shannessy, CEO of IDP Education, in a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, in Melbourne, Australia on Mar. 3.

The CEO informed Samdech Thipadei about the progress of IDP Education’s business operations in Cambodia, including ACE English Language Centre in PhnomPenh, a leading and internationally recognised school.

She also expressed her gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia for its continued support to IDP Education’s business operations in the Kingdom, and reaffirmed the IDP Education’s commitment to continue its good cooperation with relevant Cambodian institutions.

The Cambodian Premier appreciated the progress of IDP Education and its co
ntribution to improving the quality of education and human resource development in Cambodia, stressing that the training of human resources, especially in the field of English, is very important in the globalisation era, with English as the bridge in the labour, business and social contexts.

Samdech Thipadei laid stress on the 7th-mandate Royal Government of Cambodia’s attention to promoting the economic growth based on qualified human resources.

Samdech Thipadei encouraged IDP Education to continue to support and cooperate with relevant Cambodian ministries, particularly the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports in examining the possibility of training on other programmes such as digital technology skills to continue to contribute to human resource development in Cambodia.
